Hello everyone and welcome to my Easing Dad’s Life website. Being fit and healthy has been a part of my life since I was 13 years old when I joined a local running team.

In Portugal track running is very popular. We even have some Olympic gold medalists, so I saw it as a life goal to be part of an Olympic team.

This was never achieved, but I ended up being a great athlete participating in many national championships in my specialties, 800 meters and 1500 meters.

A Little More about My Fitness Life

When I was a child, my dream was to be a great soccer player like Maradona at the time. I tried several teams, but I was very skinny and weak for soccer. So a cousin of mine told me about a local running team and asked me if I wanted to try. I accepted and after two weeks I was in love with the sport and with the individual effort we had to put in to achieve something, even if something meant 100 meters ahead.

Three years passed and I reached the 31st national scale, in the 800 meters.

The years passed and I left track running around the age of 25, but I never left sports and exercise. After a year, I joined a gym with the goal of building more muscle because I felt I was too thin.

Long story short, I gained a lot of knowledge in running, in how to gain lean muscle mass, in eating healthy and in maintaining very good levels of physical fitness.

Now I want to give it back!

Being a Parent Doesn’t Mean to Forget About Ourselves

When I was 38 my wife became pregnant with my first child. With all the changes in our life with the pregnancy and birth, I felt too tired to train and to keep all my good routines.

For almost a year and a half I did not run; did not do any weightlifting or any kind of exercise, and worse, I did not pay much attention to my food. You can imagine what the result was. I gained a few pounds, lost most of my muscle mass, and my fitness level decreased a lot.

When my first child was six months old, I looked in the mirror and did not recognize the person I saw. I had to do something with my body and especially with the things I ate.

Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance

With great will, but with great fatigue, I began to manage my days better. I started planning some exercises at home and having a balanced diet that would make me feel in good shape again.

Now, at 42 and with two kids, one with two and a half years old and the other with six months I’m able to run two to three times a week. I also do bodybuilding and body weight to gain muscle mass and keep me in good shape with a good level of fitness.

I have been very successful in this new phase of my life. Even with a second child (another boy) I can keep my entire schedule to take care of my physical shape and still play with my kids.

With my personal experience, my strategies and techniques I will help you with your health and fitness goals, even if you are a parent with lack of time.

I’ve been there and if I achieved my goals, surely you will too.

Have a look around and if you ever have anything to share in respect to easing dad’s life, I would love to hear it.

All the best,
