My approach to detox juice is not juicing itself, but blending and adding a little more water.

Why?

Juicers strip the skin and extract almost all the fiber from fruits and veggies. This is ok; you will end up with a healthy juice. However, for weight loss you will need the fiber, and with the juicing process, the fiber that remains in the food is pretty low.

Fiber helps you with weight loss by slowing down the increase in blood glucose after you eat. This is very important for fruit-based juices, which have lots of natural sugars.

In addition to fiber, the antioxidants from many fruits reside in the skin. By stripping the skin, we also lose the benefits of the antioxidants.

As you can see, for a weight-loss diet, it is highly recommended to keep all the fruits (you can remove the seeds), blend them and add water to make it easier to drink.

  • 1 steamed medium broccoli

  • 1 cup dark leafy greens

  1. If you don’t have broccoli leftovers, steam 1 medium broccoli and chop it into small pieces.

Preparation:

  1. Cut the apples into quarters (leave the skin).
  2. Take the skin and the seeds from the lemons. Cut them into quarters.
  3. Trim and chop the beets.
  4. Chop the carrots (leave the skin).
  5. Put all the ingredients in the blender and blend them. Add more water if it looks too thick.

This is a great juice to drink as a starter in the summer. It tastes amazing and is full of antioxidants, fat, vitamins and anti-inflammatory properties.

  • 1 medium tomato
  • ½ cucumber
  • Handful fresh parsley
  • Handful freshcilantro
  • 1 very small clove fresh garlic, or a slice of a larger clove
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Pinch salt
  • Special ingredients: cilantro, olive oil and tomato

Preparation:

  1. Chop the tomato.
  2. Peel, seed and chop the cucumber.
